Jesus, Was That You?

Hello, friends! School has kept me busy, apparently; those assignments don’t finish themselves! I’m so happy to reconnect with you. I’ve missed sharing this little corner of life and faith.

This month, I’m preaching from Luke 24:13–35, the road to Emmaus. Two disciples walked and talked with Jesus without recognizing Him. Imagine telling Jesus about Jesus, and still missing who’s standing beside you!

Before we laugh too hard, how often do we do the same? We get wrapped up in deadlines, disappointments, and our own expectations, and overlook His presence as He teaches, guides, and comforts us.

Their circumstances hadn’t suddenly become easy, but their eyes were opened. The One they thought they had lost was right there with them. This passage challenges me to slow down, listen, and pray: “Lord, help me recognize You.”

Even during a busy school week, balancing work and life, there’s room to notice the One walking beside me.

And so, I want to leave you with this challenge: slow down long enough to recognize Jesus’s guidance in the midst of life’s chaos. Make room for prayer, pause over His Word, and listen before rushing into the next thing. Like those disciples on the road to Emmaus, you may discover that while you were wondering where Jesus was, He was already walking beside you.
