What if…?

What if you took the time to examine your thoughts and then chose to think differently? What if you decided to think differently, instead of those imaginary scenarios running through your mind repeatedly? The Bible never commanded us to let thoughts run wild, to put you in a bad mood, make you anxious to the point of doubting God’s word, or to agree with the lies of the enemy. The Bible tells us to take every thought captive.

We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ. 2 Corinthians 10:5

This involves actively managing your thoughts by aligning them with God's will and dismissing those that oppose His teachings. It is about recognizing and rejecting negative, worldly, or sinful thoughts, and replacing them with thoughts that reflect God's word and character.

Overthinking is a powerful weapon of the enemy; it replaces faith with fear, prayer with worry, and peace with anxiety. It will have you questioning everything God has promised. You need to identify the lies and replace them with the truth, which is found in God's word. God’s word is truth; it will not return void, Isaiah 55:11. God's spoken word consistently achieves its purpose, so start proclaiming God's words out loud. Remember, the enemy can't read your mind, but he can hear your voice. And remember, have faith! Scripture says it is impossible to please God without faith. The two times Jesus was amazed were when he saw marvelous faith. The first is recorded in the faith of a Roman centurion, Matthew 8:5-13 and Luke 7:1-10, and the second is the disbelief of the people from his hometown, Nazareth, as described in Mark 6:1-6. The battle in your mind is real; the enemy is after your peace and joy, but you need a mind shift and to think differently. What if you allowed your thoughts to be controlled by God's words instead of the lies of the enemy? What if you had faith? What if you pass that test? What if God heals you? What if God overrides the rules and shows you supernatural favor? What if?
