With God,no setback is final

I grew up loving basketball. Life got busy, and for nearly ten years, I stopped watching. Recently, one of my patients got me hooked again, and I’ve found myself right back where I started, watching games, going to games, cheering them on, and enjoying every moment.

As I watched the New York Knicks battle through adversity, I couldn’t help but see a picture of the Christian life. For decades they’ve endured disappointing seasons, heartbreaking losses, and constant criticism. They haven’t won a championship since 1973, yet their fans never stopped believing.

Our walk with Christ is much the same. We will face trials, setbacks, and seasons that make us wonder if we’ll ever see a breakthrough. But God never calls us to quit; He calls us to persevere.

Jesus said in Matthew 11:12, “The kingdom of heaven has suffered violence, and the violent take it by force.” This speaks of a faith that refuses to give up, a determination to pursue God and hold tightly to His promises.

This isn’t a call to physical violence but to spiritual determination. We are called to pursue God passionately, with unwavering faith, relentless perseverance, and a refusal to let go of His promises. We press forward with holy resolve, laying hold of what Christ has already made available to us.

No matter how impossible your situation looks, don’t lose heart. Keep praying. Keep believing. Keep trusting. With God, victory isn’t determined by the odds but by His faithfulness. Your story isn’t over, and because Christ has already won, you can keep fighting in faith. Keep the faith, the fighting; your story isn't over.
