He Intercedes for Us

As Christians, one of the areas many of us struggle with most is prayer. I know that in the beginning of my walk with the Lord, prayer often felt challenging.

Sometimes we don’t know what to say. Sometimes we feel physically, emotionally, or spiritually exhausted. We get distracted, wonder if we’re praying correctly, or think we need to use eloquent words to get God’s attention. At times, prayer can even feel like we’re speaking into a void, as though no one is listening.

But nothing could be further from the truth.

One of the beautiful promises God has given us is the gift of the Holy Spirit. As I continue exploring this topic, I want to focus on how the Holy Spirit helps us in prayer and actually intercedes on our behalf.

Romans 8:26-27

“In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us through wordless groans. And He who searches our hearts knows the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for God’s people in accordance with the will of God.”

Isn’t that comforting?

We don’t have to fight this battle alone. Even when we’re struggling to find the right words, feeling weak, or don’t feel like praying at all, God has not left us on our own. Through the Holy Spirit, He is helping us, interceding for us, and praying according to His perfect will.

What an incredible gift and source of comfort for every believer. 🕊️
