The little things
As the year comes to an end, my only real prayer is simple: Thank You, God.
I used to think blessings were always the big things: houses, cars, dramatic miraculous breakthroughs. But now I realize that some of the greatest blessings are the little things. The quiet faith that keeps us grounded. The friendships that hold us up. The lessons that shape us. The unseen acts that speak loudly in our hearts, gently confirming that God is still with us and will always be through the years and beyond.
Everything is expensive right now. Life feels heavy, and the numbers don’t always add up. Yet somehow, we’re not left hungry or empty-handed. That’s when gratitude hits differently, because even when the math isn’t mathing, the bills still get paid. There’s food in the fridge. The car still runs, and there’s gas in the tank. That wasn’t you, that wasn't your hustle, that was God doing divine math. That was grace.
Philippians 4:19 reminds us that God will supply all our needs according to His riches in glory, not some of them, not most of them, but all of them. He never promised the journey would be easy, only that we wouldn’t go without. You may not have everything you want, but somehow you always have what you need, right when you need it.
Yes, life is costly. This economy is heavy. Everything seems to demand more. Yet God still makes sure you’re taken care of, still standing, still provided for, still here, still healthy despite the diagnosis. You're still at peace, you know whose in control. Sometimes the greatest miracle is the peace He gives in situations that should have broken and taken you out.
So as you look back, thank God. As you look ahead, trust God. And remember this: you are standing in answered prayers you once begged Him for.
